Andy graduated from Pepperdine University, where he studied music composition and piano performance, and is currently pursuing an MFA in Film and Television Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Andy is an expert sight-reader, and can also improvise, play by ear, and transpose music quickly. He frequently play as a soloist, but also play piano often as an accompanist for other musicians. He has served as the rehearsal pianist for choirs and productions of musicals and operas, accompanied vocal and instrumental soloists, and have been an accompanist, coach, and music director for various music programs and stage productions.
Andy also composes music for films. His latest film project is a score to the 1925 silent film Little Annie Rooney starring Mary Pickford. The 96-minute score was recorded in September of 2015 (the score was written for 12 players – Andy plays the piano part). Its next screening will be July 16, 2016 at the Egyptian Theater, and there are also plans are for a release on DVD and television.
